Wow, I have myself a blog!

Why would I want to have a blog?

Great question, but honestly I have thought about having a blog for a while, but never really gotten to it. It took a pandemic for me to get it done.

I am a 52 year old opinionated gal that always enjoyed writing, and my approach to this is that it’s never to late to start something new. So buckle up friends, let’s get this started.

Covid-19 has been a big change for us all, and in my case having asthma, hypertension, and being overweight fit the criteria for being in a risk group. First when the news about this pandemic started I think I was to nonchalant about it, but when California Governor Gavin Newsom ordered shelter in place/quarantine I had to figure out what that meant for me. I contacted my doctor, and he strongly recommended me to stay home from work. I am currently on my 5th week in quarantine, and as of now it looks like until at least mid May. It is hard to keep myself occupied, so it is the right time for me to start this blog.

Staying home, and being off work for five weeks sounds like a great thing right?! Oh well it is harder than I thought. I miss my job, and the social interaction with my awesome coworkers. My husband normally travels a lot, and I have mentioned on and off the last year that it would be nice for him to be home a bit more. He commented about this the other day, and said that this was probably not what I had in mind when I wanted him home more. He is right. In this case it is what it is, and we just have to take it with stride, and even if it is annoying at times. We are fortunate we don’t have to battle a war, raging fires, an earthquake, flooding, thunderstorms or anything else that could destroy our house. Everything is in perspective.
